Things to know
- Musicians paid to perform are usually owed super even if they have an ABN. Who owes it depends on how the gig was booked; see the ATO's guidance for performers.
- Since 1 July 2026, super must reach the fund within 7 business days of payday. Clearing houses take a few days, so lodge promptly.
- Super is worked out on the fee only. Expenses such as travel and equipment hire don't attract super.
- This is a calculator, not tax or financial advice. Check anything you're unsure of with your accountant.
